It’s not an excerpt from anywhere, it’s a description of what happens to “the rest of them” because they didn’t stand out.
Quality and usefulness have major roles to play in growth and progress in most areas of life. You have to be great at something and be the guy that solves a problem if you don’t want to be “the rest of them”
It doesn’t matter what you do, it matters that you care enough to find impactful ways to deploy your prowess.
Instead of being a designer, be the designer that creates killer pitches that help startups position for their first round of funding
Instead of being a podcaster, be the podcaster that discusses the interesting overlay between life and work.
People put people and things in a box, and I’m not saying- be boxed but that’s how the mind works. We can fight it or we can choose our boxes, and perhaps create more boxes.
