Hate is not necessarily the absence of love. It could be a response

A bad job is not necessarily a lack of prowess, neither is a good job an absolute presence of it.

An ugly design is not a lack of creativity and a pretty design is not an absolute presence of it.

A kind response doesn't mean that a person is kind. He probably just won a lottery or just downed a cup of ice cream.

A presence of this is not always an absence of that.

The question now is — what do we look out for? How do we navigate life?

Character. Character is what we should build in ourselves and look out for in others.

Discipline, integrity, dedication…character

Because…

Then creativity becomes a choice, not a feeling

Love becomes a decision not only butterflies in your belly.

Kindness becomes a value you uphold, regardless of your mood or the situation.

The quality of your work becomes something you’re committed to, regardless of how many moving pieces there are or what is going wrong. A minimum standard is upheld

Events can trigger responses. Kind today, harsh tomorrow. But someone with character maintains balance and stays consistent.

The strength of character wins long-term. It's hard to fake.
