Share your ideas but…
Here’s what you should be looking for
--
Share your ideas, by all means…
But not in search of reassurance because that’s futile
And that’s what most of us do. All we want to hear is — great idea! This would work! You’ve got something good going!
Well, they may be wrong or giving you the good-bad gift — reassurance. You might actually have a bad idea or something that might not work.
On the other hand, if your idea is great, they may not say it, and you can't let that break you.
Three things.
First, who do you share your ideas with? Can they tell you the truth? Are they qualified to understand and provide feedback? Do they have the capacity and heart to see ahead? Do you even want feedback?
If they tell you the truth, can you handle it? Do you have intelligence enough to switch gears and try something new or even the same thing, but another way?
Are you looking for reassurance? Because that’s a risky game and it might not help much, assuming you want to move forward.
