What do you want?

Because life will always test you and you CAN’T fail

It’s been an incredibly challenging week for me on many fronts.

And I found that some of the most valuable things in life are decisions, understanding, and responsibility.

It became clear to me that what we really make for a living (as people) are decisions. What to do, say, take, feel, and what not to…

I also found that decisions become difficult when we don’t know what we want or have not decided on the path we want to take.

This made me realize that the biggest decisions we must make are who we want to be and what we want out of life.

I was reminded that decisions are not free. They have a cost and the cost of what we can have is what we cannot have.
The cost of the path we can take is the path we cannot take.
The cost of the person we choose to be is the person we cannot be.

And this is what informs me to take responsibility because now, I understand.

I understand that my choice of career and methods of growth have their challenges but that’s the path that leads to what I want.

I understand that my choices to be loving, honest, considerate, responsible, proactive, positive, supportive, friendly, and on and on… all have their challenges (isn’t that funny?) but that’s the path that leads to what I want.

I understand that my choice to… well I guess that‘s enough and you get where I’m headed.

Taking responsibility is a lighter burden because I understand who I want to be and what I want out of life.
I’ve had to face the outcomes of my big decisions this week, mostly uncomfortable, but I took responsibility and made other (smaller) decisions that kept me on the path because I know where it leads.

Knowing that decisions have a cost has helped me feel better about people and things (that didn’t seem to align) and cut through the clutter of public opinion.

A little rant but I hope this helps you.
