When Mothers Become Babies

Thoughts on mother’s day celebration

It’s mothering Sunday and everyone is writing nice things about their mothers and the mother figures in their lives.

Why is it significant?

It is significant because it is worth it

It is significant because mothers are peculiar, they are an expressive symbol of care and we are grateful for the impact they have had in our lives and for the sacrifices they’ve made.

As we celebrate, it’s important to note that as they grow older, their needs change just like ours did and in many cases, what makes them happy is how much extra time we spend over the phone to talk about flat stuff. It is how much we remember them and their little needs. It how many times we can make a trip back home to say ‘i care’.

It’s easy to forget when we get busy chasing our dreams, but it’s important to keep in mind that as they grow older, they become our babies just like we were once their babies and as much as they cared for us, we should care for them.

Happy mother’s day
