It’s been a minute since my last post here.
I’ve been cooking (building) something I can't wait to show you.
Want an early sneak peek? Catch me here.

Today… I’m here to shine some light into a possible deep, in response to the whisper from a little bird.

The universe is around 13 billion years old but civilization as we know it is just a little over 4000 years old. That is less than 150 generations. And each generation could almost not imagine what would happen in the next.

Only a hundred and fifty years ago, people could not imagine the computer I’m now using to type this message (and that probably includes Charles Babbage, the inventor).
Or that planes would not only fly but transport people or that we’d even use them to guide missiles and threaten each other.
Or that reality would be augmented or made completely artificial.
Or that YOU would exist.

Most of it was motivated by problems, discomfort, and care.
You feel sad and depressed because you are not charging towards a meaningful goal. It’s in your design as a human to charge toward an obstacle and create meaning.

Think about it. When do you feel most alive?

I’ll tell you.
It’s not when you’re sipping margaritas on a beach in Brazil or when you’re sitting in the nicest restaurant in France or all the things you do or fantasize about, even though they’re fun, they’re not really your life. You get to do them every now and then.
If you did them every day, your life would be unbelievably miserable. Plus, you’d look like Mrs Puff or Winnie-the-Pooh.

It’s when you are creating meaning or solving a meaningful problem. That's when you feel alive! Right?
Writing that song, shipping that book, thinking, researching, and making things that help humanity.
It’s those steps, no matter how tiny.

It’s partly why we love games.
There’s an obstacle, we overcome it and we move to the next level.
There's a goalpost, we pass the ball and do all sorts of stuff until we score.

By design, you’re a creator.
If you seek to make things better or you imagine a future that does not yet exist, you’re not crazy, you’re functional.

If you think your life is miserable right now, do nothing. Just pick one of the problems in your life, make a plan to solve it, and go at the damn thing!
You’ll either solve it or it’ll show you what you’re really capable of. I mean, introduce you to yourself.
You’ll also develop some skills and confidence to solve other problems.
You’ll quickly turn the emotional downward spiral upwards.

That’s why unhealthy consumption of social media will make you want other people's lives (which are mostly untrue) rather than build your own (which is real) or explore your badassness.

The mindset is not to shy away or cry at your problems. Although that’s human and it happens. We feel things and experience unfairness. No doubt. It’s partly why we exist in groups… for each other.

The mindset is to greet problems with curiosity and envision futures that don't yet exist because, by design, you can solve them. You can create. That’s also human.

The meaning and fulfillment you seek start with responsibility.

I’m rooting for you.
